Connect an AI assistant

You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your OceanResume account. The assistant then reads your profile and edits its sections and entries when you ask, from its own chat. The connection uses the OceanResume MCP server, a standard way for AI assistants to work with other products.

What you need

A plan that includes AI Assistant Access. See pricing.
An AI assistant that can add a custom connector (also called a remote MCP server).

Connect your assistant

The names of the menus differ between assistants. The steps are the same.

In your assistant’s settings, find connectors (or integrations, or MCP servers) and add a custom one.
Enter the OceanResume server address:

Your browser opens the InteOcean sign-in. Sign in with the account you use for OceanResume.
A screen says the assistant “wants to access your OceanResume account” and lists what it will be able to do. Select Allow.
Back in the assistant, ask it to list your OceanResume profiles to check the connection.

What the assistant can do

The assistant can read your profiles and change their content:

List your profiles, and read a profile and its sections.
Add, rename, reorder, show, hide and remove sections.
Add, update, reorder, show, hide and delete entries.
Publish your draft.

If a value does not fit a field’s rules, the edit is refused with the name of the field, and the assistant can correct it and try again.

Edits are drafts until published

Every edit the assistant makes is saved to your draft at once. Your public resume changes only when the draft is published. The assistant is told to ask you before it publishes, unless you already asked it to.

Publishing checks the whole profile. If something is incomplete, the assistant gets a list of the sections to complete or remove. See Publish and go live.

What the assistant cannot do

Photos and files. Upload and change these in the dashboard.
Skill levels and icons, and section settings. Change these in the dashboard.
Make a profile live. A new profile starts hidden. After the first publish, you turn on the Live switch in the dashboard yourself.
Anything outside profile content. No tool creates or deletes a profile, or changes your template, Folio, domains, site settings or plan.

Disconnect an assistant

Open Connected apps in your InteOcean account.
Find the assistant and select Disconnect.
Confirm with Disconnect.

The assistant loses access to your OceanResume account right away. You can connect it again later from the assistant.
