Site settings
Site settings controls how your public resume is found: its search listing, the images used when it is shared, and which address is the main one. Each profile has its own settings.
To open it, go to the dashboard, select Edit on the profile, then select Site settings under Tools. It has three tabs: Search, Sharing and Primary domain.
Search
Section titled “Search”How your profile is listed on Google and other search engines.
- Enter a Title, up to 70 characters.
- Enter a Description, up to 200 characters. It appears under the title in results.
- Check the Preview. Italic text is a generic line shown until you write your own. Search engines may shorten or rewrite what they show.
- Under Search engine indexing, set the two switches:
- Allow indexing: on reads Visible to search engines; off reads Hidden from search engines.
- Allow following links: whether search bots may follow the links on your page.
- Select Save, then Publish changes.
Sharing
Section titled “Sharing”Images for link previews and browser tabs.
| Image | Used for | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Link preview image | Shares on LinkedIn, Facebook and most chat apps | 1200 × 630 |
| X / Twitter image | Shares on X | 1200 × 600 |
| Favicon | Browser tabs and bookmarks | 256 × 256 |
Each image must be a JPEG, PNG or WebP, 5 MB or smaller.
- Upload an image in its card.
- Select Save, then Publish changes.
Leave Link preview image empty and a preview card of your profile is generated automatically. Leave X / Twitter image empty to use the link preview image. Select Remove on a card to delete a saved image.
Primary domain
Section titled “Primary domain”A profile always has its Free link, in the form oceanresume.app/yourhandle. If you also map a subdomain or a custom domain to the profile, you can choose one as the primary domain. Your other addresses, the free link included, then redirect to it.
- Open the Primary domain tab.
- Select No primary domain, Subdomain or Custom domain.
The choice saves as soon as you select it, with no publish step. It can take up to a minute to reach everyone.
- Subdomain and Custom domain are offered only when one is mapped to this profile. If not, follow the link on the tab to the Domains page. See subdomains and connect a custom domain.
- A domain marked Not live yet can be chosen, but redirects start only once it is live.
- With No primary domain, every address shows your profile directly.
Plan requirements
Section titled “Plan requirements”Saving on the Search or Sharing tab needs a plan with custom SEO. Without it, saving opens the upgrade prompt. Subdomains and custom domains have their own plan requirements. See the pricing page or plans, limits and add-ons.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- The public page did not change. Search and Sharing saves are drafts. Select Publish changes.
- Subdomain or Custom domain is not offered. Map one to this profile on the Domains page first.
- Primary domain cleared. A primary domain that is unmapped, released or removed is reset to none. Choose a new one here.
- A custom domain is not going live. See fix a domain.
