Show or hide content

You can keep content in your profile without showing it to visitors. Visibility works at three levels: the whole profile, a section, and a single field. Hidden content is kept, so you can show it again later.

Turn the switch in the editor’s top bar from Live to Hidden. Visitors get a not-found page until you switch it back. See publish and go live.

  1. Open the dashboard and select Edit on the profile.
  2. In the sidebar, under Tools, select Sections.
  3. In On your resume, turn the section’s switch to Hidden or Shown.
  4. Select Publish changes to update your public page.

A hidden section keeps everything you wrote and stays in your sidebar, so you can keep editing it. A section marked Required is always shown; its switch cannot be turned off.

Hiding is different from removing: removing a section deletes its content. See sections and entries.

Some fields can be hidden one at a time.

  1. Open the section from the sidebar and open the entry.
  2. Find the Public button at the top right of the field.
  3. Select it. It changes to Hidden. Select it again to make the field Public.
  4. Select Publish changes to update your public page.

The button takes effect as soon as you select it; you do not need to select Save. It is still a draft change until you publish.

The button only appears:

  • on fields that allow hiding. Many fields have no button and are always public.
  • on an entry that has been saved. Save a new entry first.
  • in sections that edit as a form. Sections with the quicker list layouts have no per-field button.

The editor has no switch for hiding a single entry. To leave one entry off your resume, delete it, or hide the whole section. An AI assistant you connect to your profile can hide and show single entries; see connect an AI assistant.

When you publish, OceanResume checks that every shown section is complete. Hidden sections are not checked. If a section you are not ready to finish blocks publishing, hide it and publish the rest.

Some sections and some fields are premium. They need a plan with premium sections.

  • A premium section carries a Premium badge in the Available list. Without the plan feature, selecting Add opens the upgrade prompt.
  • A premium field inside an ordinary section carries a Premium badge when your plan includes it. Without the plan feature the field is locked, and selecting it opens the upgrade prompt. The rest of the entry saves as normal.
  • After a downgrade, a premium field keeps the value you stored. You cannot change it until your plan includes premium sections again.
  • During an import, premium content is listed as Needs a plan with premium sections and is not imported.

To see which plans include premium sections, open the pricing page or read plans, limits and add-ons.

  • The switch will not turn off. The section is required.
  • There is no Public button on a field. That field cannot be hidden, or the entry is not saved yet.
  • A hidden section still shows on your site. The change is a draft. Select Publish changes.
