What is OceanResume
OceanResume hosts your resume as a website and as a PDF. You write your content once, in a profile, and OceanResume shows that same content in two designs: a template for the website and a Folio for the PDF.
The three parts
Section titled “The three parts”- Profile. Your resume content: sections such as Basic Detail, Work Experience and Education, each holding entries made of fields. A profile has a handle, the short name that becomes its web address.
- Template. The design of your hosted resume website. Changing the template, its theme, font or media changes how the site looks. It never changes what you wrote.
- Folio. The design of your PDF resume. It styles the same profile content for download and print.
Edit a job title once and both the website and the PDF pick it up the next time you publish.
Where things live
Section titled “Where things live”- The dashboard is where you work: open the dashboard. It lists your profiles. Each card shows whether the profile is Live or Hidden and whether it has Unpublished edits.
- The profile editor opens when you select Edit on a card. Its sidebar has your content sections and the tools: Analytics, Portfolio (the website design), Folio, Sections, Import, Site settings and Contact Form.
- Your public address is where visitors read your resume. Every profile has a free link made from its handle, in the form
oceanresume.app/yourhandle. You can also give a profile a subdomain or a domain you own.
How content reaches visitors
Section titled “How content reaches visitors”- You save an edit. It is stored as a draft that only you can see.
- You select Publish changes. The draft becomes the published version.
- You switch the profile to Live. Visitors can now open its address.
A new profile starts Hidden and unpublished, so nothing is public until you choose. Publish and go live explains each stage.
