Publish and go live
Three separate actions decide what visitors see. Save stores your edit as a draft. Publish changes copies the draft to the published version. The Live switch decides whether anyone can open the profile at all.
What a visitor sees at each stage
Section titled “What a visitor sees at each stage”| Your profile | What a visitor sees |
|---|---|
| New, never published | A not-found page. The Live switch cannot be turned on yet. |
| Published, switch on Hidden | A not-found page. |
| Published, switch on Live | Your last published version. |
| Live, with saved edits you have not published | Still your last published version. |
Publish for the first time
Section titled “Publish for the first time”- Open the dashboard and select Edit on the profile.
- Fill in your sections and select Save on each one. The badge reads Saved as draft.
- In the strip under the top bar, select Publish.
- Turn the switch at the top from Hidden to Live.
- Select Visit Live to open your public page.
Until the first publish, the strip reads “Not published yet” and the switch stays disabled.
Publish later edits
Section titled “Publish later edits”After the first publish, every saved content edit shows the strip again with Unpublished changes. Select Publish changes to send them to your public page. The top bar then shows when you last published.
Content means your sections and their order, entries, section names, what is shown or hidden, your Search and Sharing settings and the contact form.
Go back to the published version
Section titled “Go back to the published version”Select Discard changes beside Publish changes to drop every unpublished edit. Your content returns to the version you last published. Your design, your primary domain and the Live switch stay as they are.
Hide a profile
Section titled “Hide a profile”Turn the switch to Hidden. Visitors get a not-found page at every address of the profile. Your published version is kept, so switching back to Live shows it again. You can keep editing and publishing while hidden; publishing updates what appears when you next go live.
What publishing checks
Section titled “What publishing checks”Publishing checks every section that is shown:
- A section must have at least one entry.
- An entry cannot be empty.
- Every required field must be filled in.
If something is missing, Finish your profile to publish lists each section with what it needs. Select Open to go to it. Complete the section, or remove the entry or section if you do not need it. Hidden sections are not checked.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Save your edits first. An open editor has unsaved changes. Select Save or Discard there, then publish.
- Publish your profile once to turn it Live. The profile has never been published. Select Publish first.
- Visit Live is disabled: the profile is Hidden or not published yet.
- Couldn’t publish. Nothing changed. Try again in a moment.
- The dashboard card shows Unpublished: the profile has saved edits that are not on the public page yet.
